Rs. 2000 Note Withdrawn From September 31

RBI issued a circular stating, the Rs 2000 note will continue to be withdrawn from denomination in effect from September 30. The bank also asked the state banks and other banks to exchange the notes of Rs 2,000 denomination until September 30. The sudden announcement would create panic amongst people, who will now rush to exchange their notes. Notably, at a time only Rs 20,000 could be exchanged at banks.

RBI Issues Guidelines For Banks, NBFCs Over Statutory Auditors' Appointment

The Reserve Bank of India on April 27 announced a slew of measures regarding the appointment of statutory auditors in financial institutions including banks and NBFCs, effective from  FY 2021-2022. After this, the banks and NBFCs have to take a prior permission from the RBI before appointing any statutory auditor. Besides, the entities have to appoint the auditors for a minimum of three consecutive years.
