In Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram, a family of four Sri Lankan Tamils arrived at Mandapam district, calling themselves "refugees", on August 13. Poland will provide accommodation to about 500 Afghan evacuees, in the country for three months, who worked for NATO, said PM Mateusz Moraickit's close aide Michal Dworaczyk on September 3. After three months, up to 50 persons will get a chance to stay in Poland and the rest have to leave the country, Dworaczyk added. Besides, Poland has evacuated around 1,300 afghans from Kabul.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made it very clear that Canada under no circumstances will recognize the Taliban as the rightful government of Afghanistan. Canada's priority is to evacuate people stuck in Afghanistan, the PM added. "We’re working with our allies on what Canada as part of the international community can do to stabilize the situation, protect civilians, and put an end to the violence," he said.
As the Taliban takes over Afghanistan, many countries including the US, Canada, India, and others are making efforts to evacuate people from the war-torn nation. In the wake of this, to help the Afghan refugees, the Union Home Ministry on August 17 announced a new category of visa, 'e-Emergency X-Misc Visa' that will help fast-track the process for their entry into India. Moreover, the Hindu and Sikh communities will be prioritised.
