Reliance & Apple Regarded As Most Valuable Companies: Report

With the latest entry of Wipro, HCL Technologies, and Asian Paints, 12 Indian companies secured their place among the list of top 500 companies in Hurun Global 500 list. However, with $188 billion, Reliance Industries (RIL) topped the ranking among Indian companies followed by Tata Consultancy Service ($164 billion), and HDFC Bank ($113 billion). Besides, America's Apple secured the 1st position.

Govt Approves 5G Trials For Telecos; Mentions No Chinese Tech Use

The Centre on May 4 gave a green light to telecom service providers (TSPs) to conduct 5G spectrum trials in the country. Rejecting Chinese telecom gear makers, the Telecom Department approved Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, C-DOT and Reliance Jio’s indigenously developed technology to conduct trials. Reliance Emerges As Largest Medical Liquid Oxygen Producer In India

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has emerged as the largest medical-grade liquid oxygen producer in the country. RIL’s single manufacturing unit in Jamnagar and other facilities possess daily production capacity of 1,000 metric tonnes (MT) daily i.e., 11% of the total oxygen supply in the country. While the oxygen is being provided for free to several states, RIL has supplied 55,000 MT of oxygen across the country since March 2020.

Reliance Jio Turns Top Bidder At 4G Spectrum Sale; Spends Rs 57K Cr

Reliance Jio has become the top bidder at the 2021 4G spectrum auction by acquiring the 488.35MHz band for Rs 57,122.65 crore. Becoming the largest holder in 2300 MHz and sub-GHz spectrum, Jio increased its spectrum footprint by 55%. Similarly, Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have acquired 355.45 MHz and 11.80 MHz respectively, worth Rs 18,698.75 crore and Rs 1,993.40 crore. However, participants didn't bid for 700 MHz and 2500 MHz.

Supreme Court Issues Notices To Future Retail, RIL On Amazon's Plea

The Supreme Court on February 22 issued notices to Future Retail and RIL against their Rs 24,713-crore deal, which was objected by Amazon. Giving notices, the apex court stayed a Delhi High Court order that gave a green signal to the deal. The Supreme Court has asked Future Retail and RIL to file their replies within three weeks. Earlier, Amazon objected to the deal on the ground that it holds 49% stake in Future Retail.

Karnataka: Reliance To Buy 1,000 Quintal Rice At Rs 82 Above MSP

Agents registered with Reliance Retail Ltd have agreed with Karnataka’s Sindhanur farmers to purchase 1,000 quintals of Sona Masoori paddy. Punjab: Reliance Appeals In High Court Against Vandalism Of Mobile Towers

Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio on January 4 approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court after over 1600 telecom towers of the company were allegedly vandalised by the protesting farmers in the states. Blaming the competitors, Jio has alleged that the act was instigated by "business rivals". The petition also stated that the company has never been in farming nor it has plans to enter the business.

Jio Makes All Domestic Voice Calls Free From January 1

Reliance Jio has announced to offer free voice calls to any network in India starting January 1, 2021. Reportedly, telecom giant scrapped Interconnect Usage Charges (IUC) to make all domestic calls over other networks free. Jio said that it has shown its commitment to not charge for off-net voice call-charges as the IUC provisions have been abolished by the telecom regulator TRAI. Moreover, it stated it cares about its customers.
