A proposal to renew the H-1B visa was put forward in the US' House of Representatives by Republican Congressmen Mo Brooks, Matt Gaetz, and Lance Gooden. Reportedly, the bill states a foreign worker won't be given H-1B visa unless the employer files an application with the Secretary of Labor. Brooks said, “The bill will require employers to pay any H1B workers a minimum amount of USD 110,000".

Earlier this week, Ocasia-Cortez accused a Republican, Ted Yoho of a profane gender-based slur towards her.
