Government Waives Off Toll Fee For Oxygen Tankers On Highways

The Centre has waived off toll fee for tankers and vehicles carrying liquid medical oxygen across all the national highways. According to the National Highways Authority of India, oxygen containers and ambulances will be given utmost priority for the next two months. "The timely delivery of LMO (liquid medical oxygen) to hospitals and medical centres is of paramount importance to save lives," said NHAI.

FASTag Deemed Compulsory Starting February 15/16 Midnight

The Transport Ministry on February 14 mandated FASTag for all vehicles starting February 15/16 midnight. The order stated that all lanes of toll plazas on National Highways would become FASTag lanes and would be charged double for no FASTag. While the government in November announced to mandate FASTag from January 1 2021, on old vehicles sold before December 1, 2017, it deferred the deadline further to February 14.
