Journalist Beaten To Death In UP Over Alleged 'Road Rage'; 2 Arrested

Uttar Pradesh police arrested two people on January 27, for allegedly beating a journalist to death in Saharanpur area. Police said, the journalist was on a motorbike and overtook the car, in which three persons were seated. They said that enraged by overtaking, the three men allegedly thrashed the journalist, due to which he was seriously injured, and died later. Police further stated that a legal action is being ensured.

1 Killed In Accident At Banihal, Around Dozen Others Injured: J&K

In a tragic accident, one person was killed while around a dozen others were injured in an accident at 'Navyug Tunnel' in Jammu and Kashmir's Banihal area. A tourist bus bearing registration number JK02AT-6530 collided with another vehicle inside a tunnel, resulting in death of a person and injuries to around eleven others. Among the injured persons, three have been shifted to Anantnag, while others are undergoing treatment at Banihal.

Davangere's Only Postgraduate Writes To K'taka CM; Build Road Before Marriage

Bindu R D, who wrote a mail to Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai on September 8 stating she cannot marry until her village gets a concrete road and bus service, received a positive response on September 16. She has been assured of services soon by the district administration. Bindu, the only postgraduate in Davanagere's H Rapmpura village, said "if she left the village, anyone would not be able to raise the demand."

Man Carves Mountains To Build 3Km Road: Odisha

Harihar Behera hailing from Odogaon block in Odisha’s Nayagarh district has constructed a 3 km road by carving out mountains to provide better connectivity with the neighbouring areas. It took him 30 years to construct the road. After repeatedly requesting the authorities for the same, he took the matter into his own hands. After finishing farm work, he and his elder brother continued with the road construction.
