Roger Federer Lost His Retirement Game At Laver Cup, Says Shouldn't Overthink

Tennis great Roger Federer, who announced his retirement, lost his last Laver Cup 2022. After losing the retirement game, he said one should not overthink a perfect ending. On September 30, Federer, who played alongside Rafael Nadal, lost 6-4, 6-7, 9-11 in the doubles match to Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe. "We all hope for a fairytale ending. Here's how mine went: Lost my last singles," said Roger.

Rafael Nadal, the 13-time French Open winner, defeated Australian Jordan Thompson in the first round at Roland Garros on May 23, claiming his 299th Grand Slam victory. Novak Djokovic defeated Yoshihito Nishioka of Japan in the first round of the French Open 2022. In a second-round match against French wild card Corentin Moutet, the Spaniard will attempt to join Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the 300-plus club.

Roger Federer Dubious To Play At Australian Open Next Year: Coach Ivan Ljubicic

Ivan Ljubicic, reported that Roger Federer will not be competing in the Australian Open in 2021. Novak Djokovic Spends 311 Weeks At No 1 Spot, Surpasses Roger Federer

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic on March 8 broke Roger Federer's record of being the number 1 player in the world ATP rankings for the most number of weeks. Clinching the number 1 title for the first time in 2011, Djokovic has now spent 311 weeks on the top spot, one more than Federer. However, Djokovic with 18 grand slam victories still trails behind the logs of Federer (20) and Rafael Nadal (20).

Roger Federer Confirmed For Australian Open 2021

CEO of Tennis Australia, Craig Tiley, informed, on October 4, that  Roger Federer will take part in the Australian Open 2021. According to reports, Federer had encountered a knee injury after the Australian Open 2020 and had to undergo two surgeries, owing to which he was unable to take part in major sporting events. Reportedly, the organizers of the Australian Open have started preparations for the event to be held in January 2021.
