The High Commissioner of India, Vikram Doraiswami, met with Team India coach Rahul Dravid and coach Rohit Sharma ahead of the World Test Championship final at The Oval, London. Doraiswami seemed to have had detailed and friendly interactions with the two stalwarts of Indian cricket, with the other delegates also joining in. After meeting, Dravid and Rohit also signed some bats for the fans and clicked photos.

After the recent loss of the Indian Cricket Team in the Gavaskar Trophy's Indore Test match, many experts pointed out a few mistakes of the Rohit Sharma-led team. Some of the major highlighted mistakes are: Experimenting with the pitch, Lack of application by batters, Captaincy errors, No counterattack game, No proper use of batter Axar Patel and Batting Collapses. 

Team India made victory against the arch-rival Pakistan in the South Asia Cup 2022, on August 28. In the match, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian squad scored 148 runs with 5 wickets in 19.4 overs. Chasing the target, team India's Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja's crucial partnership in the last few balls took the team to victory against Pakistan. The Cricket Fraternity and netizens lauded India's performance and the win.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly called Rohit Sharma a "laid-back captain" saying, Mumbaikar should be given some time to produce results. He praised Sharma, who was calm despite workload management, COVID and injury concerns. Rohit Sharma, team's captain, became the third captain to have his team win an ODI series in England after their five-wicket victory over England in final ODI. Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 125* and 133-run partnership with Hardik Pandya helped India chase down 260 and win three-match series 2-1 in Manchester. Apart from Rohit, the only two Indian captains to win an ODI series in England are MS Dhoni and Mohammed Azharuddin.
