Delhi HC Rejects Plea Filed Over Rs 2,000 Note Exchange
The Delhi High Court dismissed a public interest litigation (PIL) filed against the decision of no identity proof and requisition slip, in order to exchange Rs 2,000 notes. Rs. 2000 Note Withdrawn From September 31
RBI issued a circular stating, the Rs 2000 note will continue to be withdrawn from denomination in effect from September 30. The bank also asked the state banks and other banks to exchange the notes of Rs 2,000 denomination until September 30. The sudden announcement would create panic amongst people, who will now rush to exchange their notes. Notably, at a time only Rs 20,000 could be exchanged at banks.
