Won't Levy Charges On UPI Transactions, Confirms Union Finance Ministry
In a major relief to UPI users, the Union Finance Ministry confirmed not to levy any charges on UPI transactions in India. On the evening of August 21, the ministry tweeted, " There is no consideration in Govt to levy any charges for UPI services." The clarification came after there were rumours that UPI transactions will now be chargeable, imposed by the Modi-led government.

3 Held For Spreading Inappropriate Rumours About Woman Professor: Karnataka
Three people have been arrested in Karnataka for spreading objectionable rumours about a woman professor. N Shashikumar, CP, Mangaluru, shared that a college correspondent, a physical education director, and a lecturer have been taken into custody by the Karnataka police for trying to malign a woman's image by spreading inappropriate rumors about her. 'Jersey' Release Postponed But Not Stream On OTT, Says Makers
The makers of Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer ''Jersey'' dismissed the rumours of reports of OTT release of the film. Reportedly, the rumours were doing rounds on the internet since the makers cancelled the released date of the film for an indefinite time. Centre Not Planning To Bring Back Farm Laws: Agriculture Minister
Dismissing the rumours, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Centre has no plan to bring back the contentious Farm Laws, on December 26. ''Congress is constantly trying to spread rumours to hide its failures, the farmers should be cautious of this,'' said Tomar. Earlier on December 25, the Congress had alleged that the government is trying to bring the laws back through the back door.
