Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar replied to UK Minister's concern over the recent BBC Survey Row. On March 1, S Jaishankar said, "All entities operating in India must comply fully with relevant laws and regulations." The statement of Jaishankar to his UK Counterpart came after James Cleverly, UK Foreign Minister raised the BBC Issue in the meeting with S Jaishankar. Notably, IT-surveys were conducted at BBC offices in India.

While addressing the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov backed up India for becoming the permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. “India and Brazil are key international actors, and should be counted for permanent membership in the council,” said Lavrov. India’s External Affairs minister S Jaishankar  has arrived in New York to attend a high-level meeting of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), on September 18. There, he was revived by India’s permanent representative to the UN Ambassador Ruchira Kamboj and Consul General (New York) Randhir Jaiswal. He is scheduled to deliver an address at UNGA, themed “A Watershed Moment: Transformative Solutions to Interlocking Challenges”.

Former CM of Tamil Nadu and AIADMK Coordinator O Panneerselvam, has requested union external affairs minister S Jaishankar to take necessary steps for the release of Indian fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy. He urged the union minister via letter, stating that he is concerned about the well-being of Tamil fishermen who get arrested often. Recently, on August 10 and 22 some fishermen were arrested by Sri Lankan Navy.
