Former National Cyclist Deborah Herold Reveals Harassment By Coach RK Sharma

Former cycling athlete Deborah Herold alleged her national cycling coach RK Sharma of harassment and violence agianst her.  She said, Sharma used to slap her, ridicule and harass her for years during her course of training. The statement of Herold came after a cyclist wrote to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) alleging coach Sharma of behaving inappropriate during her stay in Slovenia, at level that she feared death.

Top Female Cyclist Accuses National Sprint Team's Coach Of 'Inappropriate Behavior'

During a training camp in Slovenia, a prominent female cyclist accused R K Sharma, the national sprint team's main coach, of "inappropriate behavior." SAI Arranges Travel For Athletes To Reach Centers

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has decided to make travel arrangements for the athletes of NCOEs/SAI training centres to prepare for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. Athletes who are more than 500 Kms away from the centres will be provided with air tickets and those living within the radius will be provided with three tier AC train tickets. Accommodation will be provided to all the coaches and support staff.

SAI Releases SOPs for Covid-postive Tested Athletes

The Sports Authority of India, on October 3, issued standard operating procedure (SOP) for high-performance athletes who had tested positive for COVID-19. SAI Approves Sanction for Mirabai Chanu to Get Training in USA For Olympics

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) approved the sanction of Rs 40 lakhs for the weightlifter Mirabai Chanu to undergo overseas training before the Tokyo Olympics. The fund was granted as a part of Target Olympic Podium Scheme and allotted Rs 1.5 crore to the players of six different sports. Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju stated that this exposure will help Chanu explore in her Olympic preparation.

Para-athletes, Athletes to Resume Preparations for Tokyo Olympics: SAI

The Sports Authority of India (SAI) on September 27 announced that the Tokyo Olympics bound para-athletes and athletes will be resuming all sporting activities from October 5 onwards. The activities are set to restart in the National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs) across the country in nine activities. However, the SAI has advised to follow the safety protocols very strictly and maintain the bio-bubble.
