100% Utilisation Of Its Solid Waste, Claims Bokaro Steel Officials

Bokaro Steel (BSL) plant has saved Rs 700 crore by achieving 100% utilisation of its solid wastes in the ongoing financial year. In addition, BSL has achieved a 30.95% reduction in particulate matter emissions and a 19.85% reduction in waste discharge during the last three financial years. Moreover, BSL had won the Greentech Environmental Excellence Award 2020. Notably, BSL was the only subsidiary of SAIL to achieve this milestone.

SAIL To Set Up India's First Gas-To-Ethanol Plant in Maharashtra

The Steel Authority of India is planning to install India’s first-ever gas-to-ethanol plant at its Chandrapur ferroalloy facility. Supported by the Steel Research & Technology Mission of India, the plant resonates to reduce the crude oil imports and carbon emissions. Reportedly, the Rs 400 crore plant will get 20% viable gas funding under National Biofuel Policy 2018. Notably, it will be the only fourth such plant in the world.
