10 More Survivors Found & Rescued 3 Days After Cargo Boat Sank In Indonesia

In a latest development, 10 more survivors from the cargo boat which sank on May 27, have been found and rescued, on May 30. The survivors are reportedly in "good condition", and have returned home. The boat sank in Indonesia's Makassar Strait in South Sulawesi province, with 42 people on board, due to bad weather. Of the 42, about 31 persons have been found and rescued as of now.

15-Yr-Old Boy Represents India At Italy's Sailing World Championship

Padidala Vishwanath, son of a daily wage laborer represented India in the Optimist World Sailing Championship 2021 at the Riva Del Garda in Italy. The 15-year-old was selected in the junior boy's yachting team for the competition that lasted from June 30 to July 10. IPS and Director of Telangana residential social welfare school, RS Parvin Kumar recognized Padidala's passion for sailing and encouraged him, his father said.

Chennai's Nethra Kumanan Becomes 1st Indian Sailor To Cruise To Olympics

Scripting history, Chennai-based Nethra Kumanan has become the first Indian woman sailor to qualify for the Olympics on April 7. Kumanan, currently having 18 points leads with 21 points over her nearest rival Ramya Saravanan (39 points), who interestingly is also an Indian. The sailor with the least points in the Laser Radial Event wins the competition. The Asian qualifiers are being held in Oman.
