IAS Officer Angrily Asks Schoolgirl ‘Want Condom Too?’ Over Her Query On Sanitary Pads
A female IAS officer has been attracting controversy for verbally attacking a schoolgirl who had a query on the prices of sanitary pads. In a program run by Bihar government, schoolgirl asked an IAS officer if the government can provide sanitary pads at lower price. Annoyed IAS Officer replied, “you will eventually hope that the government will give you condoms for family planning?”.

Punjab CM Says High School, College Girls To Get Free Sanitary Pads

After Brexit, UK Scraps VAT On Women Sanitary Products
As a measure to eradicate poverty, the United Kingdom government has scrapped Value Added Tax (VAT) on sanitary products from January 1, 2021. Moreover, the government has planned to provide free sanitary products in schools, colleges, and hospitals. The rule came as the Brexit transition period ended on December 31, 2020, relieving the UK to avoid European Union’s 5% VAT directive on sanitary products.

Social Organisation Gifts Women Maoists Sanitary Pads, Menstrual Cups

Lal Bhatia Donates For Sanitary Pad Vending Machines; Installed at WBs' Schools & Colleges
Lal Bhatia, author of his real-life experience book 'Indicting Goliath', decided to support the installation of sanitary pad vending machines in schools and colleges of West Bengal. Bhatia, who was jailed in the US for false charges, announced that a part of the earnings from the book's sale will be donated for the cause. He stated that Sanitary Pads are necessary and added, "Every girl must have access to it."
