21 Yr Old Anushka Kumari Becomes Youngest Sarpanch In India: Bihar

Anushka Kumari (21) created history as she became the youngest sarpanch in Bihar. Reportedly, she won from Kushahar Panchayat of Sheohar block. Anushka said that she contested in the local panchayat elections as her village faces various problems, and she wants to "end corruption". Furthermore, she said, "I will never break the trust of the people of the panchayat." Besides, she owns a Bachelor's degree in History Honors from Bengaluru.

Maharashtra Village Gets Sarpanch After 15 Years Due To Superstition

Maharashtra Village Auctions Sarpanch Post; Winner Bids Rs 2.05 Cr

In a bizarre experiment, Umrane villlage of Maharastra's Nashik district elected its sarpanch through an auction process. Chhattisgarh: Village Sarpanch's Husband Allegedly Killed by Maoists

The husband of Karhi village’s sarpanch in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district was killed by Maoists on November 3.
