Justice DK Singh Pays Fees Of SC Student: Lucknow

Justice DK Singh from Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court paid the fees of an underprivileged student, Sanskriti Ranjan. The Judge donated Rs 15,000 for her admission at the IIT-BHU. The bench further asked the institute to make availabilities for her seat under the 'SC' category. Reportedly, she cleared the JEE-Advanced and scored 92.77 percentage. Also, she ranked at 2062.

Yuvika Chaudary Arrested For Using 'Casteist Slur'; Out On Interim Bail

Former Bigg Boss contestant, Yuvika Chaudhury was on October 18 arrested by Haryana Police for passing offensive comments against the Scheduled Caste on her social media handle. Reportedly, Yuvika used a 'casteist slur' in her video in May, which went viral on social media. "My client has joined the investigation as per the guidelines given by the High Court and she is on interim bail now," said Chaudhury's lawyer.

Odisha Govt Announces Free Coaching To SC, ST Students: Chatra Protsahan Yojana

Students belonging to the SC and ST communities will be eligible for free coaching under the new Chatra Protsahan Yojana, which was introduced by the Odisha government on October 5. The coaching will target Medical and Engeneering entrance examinations. The students will be selected on the basis of class 10th merit list. About 320 students will be selected for the scheme.

Dalits Converting To Islam, Christianity Will Lose Benefits: Law Minister

Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has clarified that Dalits converting into Islam or Christianity would be deprived of reservation rights.
