Parents Stages Protest Against Management Of MN English High School

In Maharashtra's Goregaon region, the police had to be summoned when the parents protested against the reported refusal of the management to provide them with leaving certificates and report cards of their children. The MN English High School many parents started a protest against the management, and filed a complaint of mental torture aginst the management with the police. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

School Picnic Turns Tragic As 100 Students Fall Ill

In Maharashtra's Shirdi, at least 100 children, gone for picnic, had to be admitted to a hospital after they showed symptoms of food poisoning.  the kids from Daryapur Yethil Adarsh High School in Amravati had gone to Shirdi to visit the Sai Baba temple, when of 227, hundred of them started vomiting and feeling uneasy. They were immediately admitted to a hospital where they are currently undergoing treatment.

Tragic Accident In Kerala's Palakkad Region Kills 9, Leaves 38 Injured

Nine people, including students, were killed and at least 38 were injured after a tourist bus hit Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus in Kerala's Palakkad region. On October 6, Kerala Minister MB Rajesh confirmed the incident, saying the tourist bus was on its way to Ooty, whereas the KSRTC bus was heading to Coimbatore. Moreover, the police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to hospital.

Protests Against Hijab Law Intensifies In Iran, Schoolgirls March Without Headscarves

In Iran, several schoolgirls have joined the protests that have swept Iran since the death of a woman who was detained for breaking the hijab law. On October 5, the hijab protest intensified, with videos verified by the BBC showing teenage students marching on streets, waving their headscarves in the air.  They demonstrated the protest inside schoolyards and on the streets, raising voices against the Hijab-law in Islam.

Dumka School Students Beat Teachers For Giving Less Marks, Video Goes Viral

In Jharkhand's Dumka region, a horrific incident, where a teacher was tied and beaten by students, was reported on August 31. Notably, a video of the incident went viral on social media platforms, in which students wearing uniforms were beating teachers strung with a tree, for giving less marks in exams on purpose. The Block Education Officer said, "We received info on incident & held talks with all teachers."

Karnataka HC Refers 'Hijab Row' To Larger Panel Headed By Chief Justice Of The State

The Karnataka Hijab row is getting bigger as on February 9, the Karnataka High Court bench decided to refer the matter to a larger bench for a judgement. The matter would be tabled before the Karnataka Chief Justice for immediate review. The Court also denied interim relief given to students, allowing hijab and said, it would also be decided by the larger bench.

16 School Students Test COVID-19 Positive In Mumbai: Maharashtra

Sixteen students of a school in Ghansoli, Mumbai tested COVID-19 positive, on December 18. The positive cases of class 8-11, are admitted to a COVID-19 care unit, confirmed the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC.) "Till now 811 students in the school have been tested in the past three days and this exercise will be carried out on 600 more students on Saturday," said NMMS official.

Schools Shut For Girl Students Under Taliban Regime: Afghanistan

Schools in Afghanistan have been shut for girls from classes 7 to 12, after the Taliban took over. TOLO news reported that girls in the country were concerned about their uncertain future. Furthermore, the Islamic Emirate is yet to allow girls to attend school. Reportedly, the ban is temporary due to lack of resources. An Afghan girl student said, "We hope the classes beyond grade six will be started."
