Schools To Reopen From Jan 24, CM Thackeray Approves Proposal: Maharashtra

Maharashtra schools for pre-primary to class XII students are set to reopen from January 24. However, the schools will function only in regions with low number of COVID-19 cases. Notably, Maharashtra CM took the decision, considering the proposal of School Education Department official. Furthermore, all the schools which will reopen, need to follow strict SOPs, and ensure the staff are vaccinated.

Unvaccinated Teachers' Should Not Be Allowed To Take Class: Delhi Edu Dept

Udit Prakash Rai, Delhi's Education Department Director wrote a letter to the district's education officials and said, teachers who are unvaccinated by October 15 should not be allowed to take classes. Reportedly, their absence will be counted as leave (LoP). However, schools have opened and it's our responsibility to take effective measures, he added. Moreover, the classes from nursery to VIII will be opened after the festive season.

Schools Will Reopen In Tamil Nadu For Classes 1 to 8 From Nov 1

Following a meeting chaired by Chief Minister MK Stalin, the Tamil Nadu government on September 28 decided to reopen schools from class 1 to 8 from November 1. Further, the government stated that the decision was taken before consulting medical experts, parents, and academicians. Reportedly, learning gaps due to the closure of schools caused a lot of stress to students. However, every school has to follow the SOP.

Delhi Govt Schools Conduct 'Mega' Parent- Teacher Meet

A Mega PTM was conducted in Delhi Government schools, and it is shown that 97% of the parents stated that more such meetings should be conducted to enhance the children's performances. SCERT conducted a study which cited that 70% of the parents believed that the "school-environment" has been changed as they are well maintained and cleaner than before. During PTM parents and teachers discussed the academics of the children.

Schools To Reopen For Class 6-8 In Karnataka: CM Basavaraj Bommai

In a meeting chaired by CM Basavaraj Bommai on August 30, announced to reopen schools from class 6 to 8 in the districts which have recorded only a 2% Covid-19 positivity rate. However, the schools for classes 9 to 12 have already been resumed from August 23 under strict covid-19 protocols. Besides, all those students who can not attend physical classes will have an option for online classes.

Schools, Colleges To Reopen from September 1: Delhi Government

Delhi Government has decided to reopen schools and colleges from September 1 after the Disaster Management Authority has issued guidelines for the same. According to the DDMA guidelines, the institutions will be allowed to function at only 50 percent capacity. Under the guideline, it is mandatory to set up quarantine rooms for emergency use and everyone must follow Covid-19 norms given by the government.

Haryana Govt Allows Schools To Re-open For Senior School Students

The state government of Haryana has announced that the classes for the students of class X & XII, and class IX & XI will re-open from December 14 and 21 respectively. The duration for the classes has been reduced to three hours a day starting from 10 AM till 1PM, due to the ongoing pandemic. However, the students will have to mandatory produce a negative Covid-19 report issued within 72 hours.

Schools And Colleges To Remain Shut: Tamil Nadu Government

After opinions from parents, the Tamil Nadu government has withdrawn the earlier announcements and has postponed the opening of colleges and schools for Classes 9 to 12. Earlier, the government had announced the re-opening of higher educational institutions from November 16. However, from December 2, colleges will re-open for PhD students and final year PG students from science and technical streams as per the UGC guidelines.
