Maharashtra Govt Decides To Reopen Schools From November 23
The Maharashtra government has decided to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12 from November 23. It has also hinted a possible delay in the board exams owing to the COVID-19. According to the state's Education Minister, the board exams are unlikely to occur before May. Also, the government is keen on conducting physical classes prior to the exams. The government had also deducted 25% of syllabus for compensating the time loss.

Mizoram: Govt Shuts Schools as Students Test Covid-19 Positive
Mizoram Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte said the schools in the state will be closed from October 26. The decision came after several students of classes 10 and 12 tested positive for COVID-19 after attending classes. The online classes, however, will continue and the offline classes may resume from November 9, if no new issues arise. Schools in Mizoram were opened earlier on October 16.

Andhra Pradesh: Schools To Reopen From November 2 On Half-day Basis
The Andhra Pradesh government has decided to reopen schools in the state from November 2, albeit only on a half-day basis. However, the resumption of classes will be based on hybrid model - alternate days in school campus and other days for online. The government stated that the students will be allowed to go home after midday meals. Besides, schools with over 750 students can open only twice a week.

Assam: Schools To Reopen From November 2 For Class 6-12 Students
The Assam government announced that the offline classes for schools and colleges from November 2 will be on a voluntary basis and conducted on alternate days. Reportedly, students of grades 6, 7, 9 and 12 will go to school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and of grades 8,10 and 11 will go on the remaining days. However, the students unwilling to attend classes physically can attend online lessons as well.

Schools in Punjab to Reopen from October 19; SOP released
Punjab Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla has announced that the schools for grades 9 to 12 will reopen on October 19, for students and teachers outside the containment zones only. Students can opt to continue online classes as well. In the SOP released by the ministry, masks are made mandatory. The students have been asked to wear full-sleeves and the schools will arrange the classes in shifts to avoid contact.

Andhra Pradesh: Students Given Choice to Attend Classes Online or In-person
The students of class 9 to 12 in Andhra Pradesh have the leverage to attend the classes in person or online. The state government's decision will be applicable after the schools reopen on September 21.
