Kerala Minor Dies Of Scrub Typhus; Special Team Dispatched To Take Preventive Steps
In Kerala's Varkala, a 15-year-old girl has died of scrub typhus, known as 'Chellu Pani' in Kerala's parlance. The deceased identified as Aswathy, was a native of Cherunniyoor, and was awaiting her 10th standard examination results. Health minister Veena George directed a special medical team to reach Aswathy's native, and take the necessary steps to strengthen guard in the area. Scrub typhus is a disease caused by mite-borne bacterium.

UP Reports Cases of Scrub Typhus Disease; Over 2 Dozen Infected
Scrub Typhus, a new bacterial disease caused by 'Orientia Tsutsugamushi' has been reported in various districts of Uttar Pradesh. However, the infection has been spread to over two dozen people and it spread only after being bitten by infected chiggers (berry bugs). Fever, headache, body aches, rashes, and muscle pain are some of the common symptoms. Moreover, there are no vaccines available to cure this disease.
