Seaplane Service To Cover 200 Km In 40 Minutes Inaugurated By PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 31 launched India's first seaplane service in Gujarat. The service will operate between the Statue of Unity near Kevadiya in Narmada district and Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad. It will cover the 200-km stretch in 40-45 minutes, reducing the travel time by over three hours if compared to road journey. The fare of the seaplane journey is pegged at Rs 4,800 per person.

Spicejet Seaplane For Travels Between Ahmedabad to Statue of Unity Reaches Kochi

The Twin Otter 300 seaplane, leased by SpiceJet, touched Kerala's Kochi Venduruthy channel for refuelling from Maldives on October 25. The one-of-its-kind aircraft will operate between Sabarmati riverfront and Statue of Unity in Gujarat. According to Union Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya, the 19-seater aircraft will begin operations from October 31and it will carry 12 passengers at a time.
