Float Plane Crashes In Washington State; 1 Killed, 9 Missing
In Washington State’s Mutiny Bay, a float plane carrying 10 persons crashed, leaving one dead and nine others missing, on September 4. Reportedly, the plane was en route from Friday Harbor and crashes southwest of Whidbey island. The crash occurred at around 3-4 pm. “Air and boat crews and searching for any signs of survivors,” said a Coast Guard spokesperson. Further details are awaited.

Laxman Narasimhan Becomes New CEO Of Starbucks
Starbucks has named Indian-origin Laxman Narasimhan as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), on September 1. The current CEO Howard Schultz will step down and continue as interim chief till April 2023. Meanwhile, Narasimhan will take up the office on October 1. With this, Narasimhan will be relocated from London to Seattle. Narasimhan will join the board and start as the CEO from April 1.

Walmart Shootout: 5 Shot & Injured As Teens Enter Into Altercation In Washington State
Five persons were shot and injured in a shootout at Walmart, in Washington's Mount Vernon. The incident occurred on July 17, when a group of men entered the store and found themselves having an altercation with another group. The injured persons include a 72-year-old customer, 24-year-old employee and three 19-year-old men who were involved in the altercation. The injured were rushed to a hospital, and further details are awaited.

Amazon to Get New Office at Seattle with 25,000 New Employees
Amazon to set up its third headquarters in Bellevue, Seattle. The new office will have 25,000 new workers with an average annual salary of USD 150,000. The office would be 2 million square feet as the company is seeking permission to build another skyscraper in the city. Reportedly, the Amazon employees would be working from home until January 2021.
