The Tokyo Olympics organisers have increased restrictions on athletes and participants from 11 countries, including India where new variants of Covid-19 have been found. The new guidelines issued on June 18 say they are not allowed to socialize with athletes from other countries for the first three days after arriving in Tokyo. Further, Indians & others from five countries have to get them tested every day at the games.

As India was gasping from the second COVID-19 wave with several shortages, Mumbai, fought the pandemic successfully. The Nagaland administration prolonged the state's lockdown till June 30. The govt has asked the district COVID task teams to work out relaxations, based on the circumstance in their areas. Nagaland went under lockdown on May 14, banning all activities to save critical services and commodities transit. However, the decision to extend the lockdown was taken at a state level review meeting.
