Tushar Mehta Writes To Home Secretary Over Security Lapses In Yasin Malik's Appearance in Court
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) leader Yasin Malik, who is undergoing life sentence in a terror funding case at Tihar Jail, appeared in the Supreme Court under police escort. Reacting to this, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta questioned the law & order and called a 'major security lapse'. In a letter written to Home Secretary, Tushar asked for an investigation. Notably, Yasin appeared for TADA Case, filed by CBI.

SC Forms Committee, Orders Probe In PM Modi's Security Lapse Issue
The Supreme Court reviewed PM Modi's security breach issue on January 10. During the hearing over recent security lapses on PM Modi's Punjab visit, the SC bench, led by CJI NV Ramana, agreed for a probe and ordered to form a Court-monitored independent committee, headed by former SC Judge to probe the issue. In addition, the Court also asked Central and State Government to dismiss their respective investigations.

SC Hears PM Modi Security Lapse Plea, Directs To Halt Investigation
Hearing the PM Modi security lapse issue, the Supreme Court, on January 7, ordered to preserve PM Modi's travel record. The court directed the Registrar General of Punjab and Haryana High Courts, to preserve travel records of PM Modi's Punjab visit. In addition, the Court also asked the Central and the Punjab Government to halt their investigation until January 10. The Court also claimed security lapse "National Security" issue.
