Police Constable Shoots Himself With Police Rifle In Mumbai; Situation Critical
A constable of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) on-duty shot himself with his service rifle in the morning on January 25 in Mumbai. Identified as Pushkar Sudhakar Shinde (36), the constable was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, after the incident took place, where his condition is said to be critical. Police said that Shinde was inside a van, when he fired himself with a rifle.

SSB Personnel Injured In Naxal-provoked IED Blast At Chhattisgarh
A personnel belonging to 33 Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was injured in a Naxal-provoked IED blast in Chattisgarh on January 14, said a police superintendent. He said that firing continued for 10 minutes after the blast at 12:55 pm near Padkalbeda village. The injured jawan was evacuated to hospital for treatment. As per police, the battalion was out for railway line protection duty.

Delhi Cabinet Approves Rs 1 Crore Aid To Families Of Six Deceased Govt Personnel
The Kejriwal Government has proposed to provide ex gratia of Rs 1 crore to each family of six martyred personnel including three from the Indian Air Force, two from Delhi Police, and one from the city’s Civil Defence sector. Odisha Forces Kill 2 Maoists In Encounter; Seizes Rifles
In Odisha's Malkangiri district, police have killed two Maoists including a female in the wee hours of December 13. The police have revealed that Maoists opened fire on the Special Operations Group and District Voluntary Forces which were on routine exercise in Gajalmamudi village. The police had killed them in retaliation and have recovered one INSAS rifle, one SLR rifle, bullets, Maoists literature and kit bags from the encounter site.

J&K Women Learn Arms Training by Indian Army
The Indian army is conducting a arms training camp for women at Reasi district in Pir Panjal Ranges of Jammu and Kashmir. Under this initiative, the Indian army will train the women, who are interested and wish to join the security forces, in academics, physical fitness, and in weapon handling. The training program aims to empower the local women and provide them opportunities "to contribute to nation-building".

J&K: One Soldier Injured After Millitants Attack Security Forces
On August 12, militants attacked security forces in Jammu & Kashmir's Sopore area. As per reports, a couple of rounds of fire were shot at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Jammu and Kashmir Police at Hygam area in Baramulla district. No casualties were reported. However, "one army jawan has sustained injures and is being treated," said a senior police officer.
