EX JNU Student Sharjeel Imam Gets Bail In Sedition Case: Delhi HC

A Delhi Court granted bail to former JNU student Sharjeel Imam in a sedition case that accuses him of delivering a 'provocative speech.' Sharjeel's speech allegedly led to violence in the national capital's Jamia Nagar area in the year 2019. Although JNU Student got bail in sedition case, he is still in custody in other cases pending against him, including UAPA Case.

Kalicharan Maharaj Arrested In Sedition Case In MP: Chhattisgarh Police

Religious leader Kalicharan Maharaj was arrested from his rented residence in Madhya Pradesh, on December 30. He has been charged under a sedition case for making derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi. "On the basis of evidence, Section 153 (1)(A), 153 B 1(A), 295 A, 505 (1)(B) have also been included," said Chhattisgarh Police. Meanwhile, MP government alleged that Maharaj was arrested without informing Madhya Pradesh police.

IPS Officer Charged With Sedition Over Hatching Plan Against Govt

After being suspended in the first week of July for a disproportionate asset case, the Chattisgarh police have now registered a sedition case against IPS officer GP Singh, officials said on July 9. The police stated that evidence of promoting enmity and hatching a plan against the government was found in documents during the raid. According to Raipur SSP Ajay Yadav, the investigation is under process.
