PM Modi Urges People To Promote Women-Led Self-Help Groups On His Program 'Mann Ki Baat'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to promote women-led Self Help Groups (SHGs) in his monthly radio broadcast Mann Ki Baat on May 29. He stated SHGs encourage women empowerment and provide encouragement to "Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan." PM Modi said the Thanjavur Doll is writing a new narrative of female empowerment. Centre Releases Rs 1,625 Crore Support Funds To Women Entrepreneurs
PM Modi has released Rs.1,625 crore to four lakh self-help groups (SHG). He also interacted with women in SHGs virtually in "Atmanirbhar Narishakti se Samvad" and appreciated them for their services during the pandemic. Under the Prime Minister Formalisation of the Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Rs 25 crore was also released as startup funds for 7,500 SHG workers.
