At the French Open 2022, India's Rohan Bopanna and his Dutch partner Matwe Middelkoop advanced to the semi-finals after defeating the British-Finnish pair of Lloyd Glasspool and Henri Heliovaara. Glasspool and Heliovaara were defeated in two hours and four minutes by Bopanna and Middlekoop. Bopanna and Middelkoop will play against El Salvador's Marcelo Arevalo and the Netherlands' Jean-Julien Roger. 

Winner of three medals at the World Wrestling Championships Bajrang Punia of India qualified for the semi-finals of the Men's Freestyle 65kg Division after defeating Morteza Ghiasi of Iran in the quarterfinals. Further on, the 27-year-old will battle against Haji Aliyev of Azerbaijan in the semi-finals on August 6 on the 15th day of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
