4 People Die Of Suffocation While Cleaning Septic Tank: Pune
In Loni, Khalbore area of Pune, four people died while cleaning a septic tank, on March 2. The incident took place at 11:30 am, at Malhar Appa residential building. The reason behind their demise is suffocation, confirmed the Pune Police. Furthermore, the police have registered an accidental death case and is awaiting postmortem report. Madras HC Says Punish Municipality Heads For Manual Scavenging Deaths
Hearing a petition of Safai Karamchari Andolan, the Madras High Court on March 16 ordered for strict actions against the officials of municipalities in case of manual scavenging deaths.
