Passenger Misbehaves With Crew Member In An Air India Flight

Another incident of unruly behaviour by a passenger was reported on a flight. A passenger on board an Air India flight AI882 to Delhi was handed over to security personnel for his unruly behaviour. The airline confirmed the incident and said, "The passenger verbally abused the crew members and then went on to physically assault one of them on board." The accused has been arrested and a investigation is launched.

New York Jury Asks Donald Trump To Pay $5 Million In Sexual Abuse Case

A jury of Federal Court, New York found former US President Donald Trump guilty of sexually abusing advice columnist E. Jean Carroll.  Happened in 1996, the judgement in the matter came recently, and said Trump is liable to pay $5 million to the victim. However, the judgement was in split, as the jury rejected Carroll's claim of rape, finding Trump responsible for a lesser degree of sexual abuse.

Pakistan Reports Over 2,000 Child Abuse Cases In 6 Months

An NGO has released a report pointing out the grim security situation in Pakistan. According to the report, around 2,211 cases of child abuse have been reported in the country in the past six months, with the victims including both boys and girls. Majority of those cases can be categorised rape, sodomy and abduction for sexual abuse, reported The News International.

Supreme Court Directs Trial Courts To Protect Sexual Assault Victims

Bombay HC Rejects Kerala CPM State Secretary's Son's Effort To Resolve Sexual Abuse Case

Bombay High Court rejected Kerala CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan's son Binoy's petition on July 9 to settle an alleged sexual assault lawsuit involving him. Binoy and the complainant had agreed to an out-of-court settlement and asked HC to end the dispute. The Mumbai-based woman, who is originally from Bihar, approached the Mumbai Police in 2019 to register a case against Binoy for sexual assault that occurred ten years ago.

Man Helps Visually Impaired Woman Cross Road, Then Rapes Her: Delhi

In Delhi's Dwarka, a man who helped a 20-year-old visually impaired woman cross a road, allegedly raped her, on May 25. The incident occurred when the woman de-boarded a bus at the Sitapuri bus stand and asked the locals to help her cross the road. The accused took her to a deserted lane and raped her. A case has been registered and further details are awaited.

6 Including 5 Juveniles Arrested Over Sexual Abuse Of 12-Year-Old: Delhi

A 21-year-old adult and five other juveniles have been arrested by Delhi police for alleged sexual abuse of a 12-year-olf girl, on May 26. Reportedly, the girl's friend lured her into a jungle, near the Railway line, were five other boys were present. Three boys sexually assaulted her, while three others watched the horrific act. The girl returned home and informed her parents, after which a case was filed.

14 Year Old Boy Arrested For Sexually Abusing 4 Year Old Girl In Tamil Nadu

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested for sexually abusing a four-year-old girl, in Tamil Nadu's Tuticorin district. The accused carried the girl to his house under the pretext of playing with her. The incident came to light when she cried in pain when she was given a bath. She was taken to the hospital, where the doctors confirmed she was raped. The police have lodged a complaint under relevant sections.

Three Minors Held For Repeated Sexual Abuse Of 9-Year-Old Boy: Tamil Nadu

The Kovilpatti east police on January 21 have arrested three minor boys under the POCSO act for sexually abusing a nine-year-old boy for almost one-and-a-half months in Tamil Nadu's Tuticorin. "During one such time, the accused showed the explicit videos and forced the boy to do the same," the police said. However, the incident has traumatized him and only after several rounds of counseling, he revealed the truth.

SC Says, 'Skin-To-Skin' Contact Not Needed For Sexual Assault

The Supreme court on November 18, set aside Bombay High Court's order that required a person to have “skin-to-skin contact” to be considered sexual assault under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. Furthermore, the apex court said, the most important thing in convicting sexual offenders under POCSO is "sexual intent". The order came after a case when a child was groped with her clothes on, reports.
