Goa's Mapusa Court Will Pass Verdict In Tarun Tejpal Case On May 12

Goa's Mapusa court on April 27 deferred the judgment in an alleged rape case against Tarun Tejpal, the Editor-In-Chief of Tehelka, on May 12. Accused of sexually assaulting a junior at a Goa hotel in November 2013, Tejpal was on bail since July 2014. While Mapusa court in 2017 framed Tejpal for the assault, his revision plea challenging the session court order was rejected by HC in December 2017

Harassment Accused Karnataka BJP Leader Ramesh Jarkiholi Tests COVID+

Karnataka’s former state minister and senior BJP leader, Ramesh Jarkiholi has tested positive for COVID-19 on April 5. Reportedly, he has quarantined himself in Bengaluru after receiving his test report as positive. However, Jarkiholi is also facing sexual charges against him and failed to appear before the SIT for inquiry scheduled on April 2. Karnataka: Ex-Min Jarkiholi Fails To Appear Before SIT In Sex Tape Case

Karnataka's former Water Resources Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi has failed to appear before the Special Investigation Team on April 2. Accused of sexual harassment, the former minister cited poor health as a reason to skip the meeting and requested for exemption until he gets well. Earlier, on March 26, an FIR was registered against Gokak MLA Jarkiholi for assaulting a woman on the pretext of providing her a government job.

SC Ends Suo Moto Petition To Frame Ex-CJI Gogoi Of Sexual Misconduct

Due to lack of evidence of any conspiracy to frame former CJI Ranjan Gogoi for sexual assault, the Supreme Court closed its suo motu investigation over the matter. However, Justice AK Patanaik's committee said the theory of conspiracy could not be ruled out. Reportedly, Gogoi was accused of sexually harassing former women employee. However, the SC's in-house enquiry had given him a clean chit in May 2019, citing zero case-substance.
