Army Court Martial Recommends Dismissal & Jail Term For NCO Found Guilty Of Sexual Harassment
An Army Court Martial, has recommended dismissal and one-year jail term for non-commissioned officer (NCO) who was found guilty of sexually harassing a female captain. The incident reportedly occurred last year, when the female officer had visited Sikkim for a river rafting course. The accused reportedly entered the official accommodation of the female officer, and made “sexually coloured” remarks.

Sexual Harassment Forces UP Teen to Attempt Suicide
In Uttar Pradesh's Kakroli village, a 15-year-old girl attempted suicide by consuming poison, confirmed to police on August 29. The girl was a victim of sexual assault, said her father in his complaint with the Kakroli Police. As per PTI, a youth from a different community in their village was sexually harassing the minor. Kakroli SHO Jitender Singh registered a case under POCSO and IPC Act, and will arrest soon.

SAI Suspends Coach Accused Of Harassing Cyclist Sexually
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) suspended RK Sharma's contract on June 8 after a top Indian women cyclist accused him of sexual harassment. SAI stated that "prima facie, the case is established and the allegations of the athlete are found to be true." The Cycling Federation of India (CFI) acknowledged the complainant and the coach in a separate statement, saying it stands "with the complainant."

Elon Musk Says Allegations Of Sexual Harassment "Utterly Untrue"
Elon Musk resorted to Twitter on May 19 to dismiss charges in a news story that he sexually assaulted a flight attendant on a private plane in 2016 "utterly untrue." The flight attendant's story, Musk added, was a "politically motivated hit piece" with "a lot more to this story." He also claimed that the piece was written to derail Twitter's takeover.

15 Accused Arrested Under Aliraji Sexual Harassment Case, Says MP Police
Accused in the Alirajpur sexual harassment incident have been arrested on March 14, reported police. Notably, 15 tribal youths have been arrested for allegedly molesting a tribal girl, in full public view, during a festival in Alirajpur. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan Orders Probe Against Law Professor: MP
Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed senior policemen to initiate probe for the allegation of sexual harassment against a professor at the National Law Institute University (NLIU) in Bhopal. Besides, the students of NLIU had met the CM, on March 11, to complain against NLIU dean, Prof Tapan Mohanty. Notably, the Dean had resigned from his post on March 10 citing several 'personal reasons'.

Mumbai Police Arrest Casting Couch Director From Titwala: Mumbai
Mumbai police arrested an alleged casting couch director from Titwala area of Mumbai, on January 11. The director was arrested for allegedly asking sexual favours and demanded intimate pictures from an actress in return for a role in a bollywood movie. When refused, the accused threatened to viral her pictures. Reportedly, inspector Dhananjay Ligade of Malad Police Station is investigating the case.

Flashing Without Physical Harm Still A Crime, Says Mumbai's POCSO Court
A special POCSO Act court in Mumbai has held that flashing private parts is a crime even if no physical harm is caused. It further stated that any indecent behaviour which makes a girl feel ashamed, agonized, disturbed or scars her mind is unacceptable. The special court was hearing a case of a 17-year-old girl who was flashed by a 29-year-old man in 2016. The court has sentenced the man for one-year imprisonment.
