AAP MLA  Amanatullah Khan and his followers were apprehended on May 13 for disrupting the anti-encroachment drive in Shaheen Bagh on May 9. On May 14, he was granted bail after presenting a bail bond of Rs.50,000 with two sureties in the same amount. "It is a fact that accused persons were carrying no weapons with them," Metropolitan Magistrate Himanshu Tanwar said.

Bathinda’s 73-year-old Mahinder Kaur has filed a defamation case against Kangana Ranaut for misaddressing the latter as Bilkis Dadi of Shaheen Bagh. Mahinder, in her complaint, mentioned that Kangana has not even tendered apology after the incident. Besides, she claimed Kangana's social media post had harmed her reputation, and she faces mental tension and harassment from society. Reportedly, a hearing has been scheduled on January 11.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has expelled the Shaheen Bagh shooter, Kapil Gurjar, hours after he joined the party on December 30. After the Enforcement Directorate had raided at the Popular Front of India (PFI) premises, an accountant of PFI has revealed about the illegal cash. Actor Kangana Ranaut has been served a legal notice following her tweet about falsely accusing Bathinda's Mohinder Kaur as Shaheen Bagh protester 'Bilkis Dadi'. However, Kangana had deleted the tweet shortly. Punjab Advocate Hakam Singh has sent a notice demanding an apology from Kangana within seven days for alleging Kaur to participate in the protests for Rs 100. The notice has slammed Kangana for degrading the lady and the protestors.
