The Indian cricket team beat West Indies, in the first match of the three-ODI series, which started on July 22. The Indian cricket team led by Captain Shikhar Dhawan scored 308 runs for 7 wickets, against West Indies, which only scored 305 runs with six wickets. With this, India won the first ODI match, and had a scoreboard of 1-0, against the West Indies team.

Indian Cricket Team staff and players tested positive for COVID-19, ahead of West Indies series. Sri Lanka defeated India in the third ODI after nine years at their home ground.  The stars of the match were Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa, whose batting lashed the Indian team by 3 wickets. The Sri Lankan team reached 55/1 in 10 overs, chasing the target of 225. However, the match was reduced to 47 overs per side owing to the rainfall.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that the former India team captain Rahul Dravid will be the head coach of Indian cricket team on tour of Sri Lanka. However, Shikhar Dhawan-led team India will play three ODI’s followed by as many T20I’s at R Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The team will undergo 3 day soft quarantine and will leave for Colombo on June 28.
