The Supreme Court reserved its order in the Sena V/S Sena case, on February 16. Notably, the Top Court reviewed the Eknath Shinde V/S Uddhav Thackeray filed the petition, regarding the Shiv Sena symbol. In then matter, the Apex Court Bench headed by Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, was hearing the rift case starting this week. This is a developing story, details are awaited.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena faction approached the Delhi High Court seeking a quashing of the order of the Election Commission of India (ECI) freezing the party name and election symbol. On October 10, the Thackeray saction filed a petition and has challenged ECI's October 8 order, contending it was passed in complete violation of principles of natural justice and without granting any hearing to the parties.

In a relief to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena sack, the Bombay High Court allowed a Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, Mumbai, Maharashtra. On September 23, the HC also noted that the Mumbai civic abused power in the case and said, "We are satisfied that in this case the BMC has abused the power by rejecting the application citing another application." Moreover, the court also rejected Eknath Shinde's intervention plea.

Hearing the Shiv Sena V/S Shiv Sena case, the Supreme Court referred the case relating to the claim over Shiv Sena to a constitution bench. On August 23, the Apex Court also asked the Election Commission, not to pass any order regarding the plea of Eknath Shinde over the symbol, until August 25. The larger constitutional bench will consider the plea of Uddhav Thackeray over party claims on August 25.

Mumbai's special Judge MG Deshpande reviewed the Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut Patra Chawl scam case, and extended the judicial custody to September 5.  Notably, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has been booked for a money laundering case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Act and is being investigated for the Patra Chawl scam case, by the Enforcement Directorate. Raut was arrested on August 1.
