4 Infants Die In ICU As Hospital Catches Fire In Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh

The government of Madhya Pradesh on November 9, reported the deaths of four infants in the Kamala Nehru Children's Hospital, situated in Bhopal. According to officials, a fire broke out in the hospital's Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU), which is believed to be caused due to a short circuit. Reportedly, CM ordered a "high-level" probe into the incident, with an ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh to the families.

Woman Suffers Internal Organs' Burn After Forcibly Drinking Acid

A woman in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh suffered serious internal burns after her husband allegedly made her consume acid. She has been brought to Delhi for treatment. Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson, Swati Maliwal said that the accused is on the run and has not been arrested. Besides, the DWC chief requested MP’s CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, for his early arrest. However, an FIR has been registered against him.

MP Govt Announces Rs 1 Lakh For Kin Of COVID Victims During 2nd Wave

The Madhya Pradesh government on May 20 announced that families of those who died during second COVID-19 wave will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh. Reportedly, the state has recorded over 3,500 coronavirus fatalities since March 2021. Earlier, the government had promised monthly aid of Rs 5,000 to children who became orphan during the pandemic, along with free ration, education and interest-free loans to guardians of those children.

MP Govt Brings Fresh COVID Restrictions, Extends Weekend Lockdown

Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on April 8 announced new COVID-19 restrictions in the state. The state government has now extended the duration of earlier announced weekend (Saturday-Sunday) lockdown: from Friday 6PM to Monday 6AM. In what could be called as an unusual order, Madhya Pradesh General Administration Department has directed every government office to get cleaned with cow urine phenyl instead of chemical phenyl.
