Indian Armed Forces Have 1,07,505 Vacancies With Most In Army: Govt

The Centre on March 22 said in the Rajya Sabha that Indian armed forces have 1,07,505 vacancies, with the most being for 86,324 posts in the army. While 79,349 posts for junior commissioned officers are vacant, the Army needs 6,975 personnel as officers. Besides, over 12,000 and 11,000 vacancies lie in the Navy and Air Force respectively. Navy Has Highest Women Participation Among 3 Services; Army Least

With 6.5% of women participation, Indian Navy has recorded highest participation of women among all three services. The information provided by Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik in Rajya Sabha on February 8 added that the Army and Air Force has 0.56% and 1.08% females respectively. AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik's Condition Stable; Wife, PA Die In Accident

Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik, along with his wife Vijaya and personal assistant, met with an accident on January 11 in Hosakambi village of Karnataka’s Ankola district. He has been admitted to Goa’s Bambolim Hospital and his condition is stable. However, the minister’s wife and his PA Deepak Dube sustained critical injuries and could not survive. Heading towards Gokarna, the speeding car had hit a tree and fell into a ditch.
