Kangana Ranaut Summoned For 'Khalistani Terrorist' Remark

Kangana Ranaut has been summoned by the Delhi Assembly Committee, on November 25. The summon notice was issued in regard to several complaints registered against the actress related to her recent "Khalistani Terrorist" remark against the Sikh Community. As per the complaint, the comment was derogatory and hurtful. Committee's Deputy Secretary Sadanand Shah, issued notice and asked Ranaut to appear before them on December 6.

Singapore PM Greets 'Sat Sri Akal' To Sikhs At Gurudwara Inauguration

At the inauguration of Gurudwara at Singapore's Silat Road, the Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong was witnessed wearing a white turban while greeting “Sat Sri Akal” to the community members. The PM expressed gratitude towards the Sikh community for their unconditional help during the Covid-19 pandemic. Regardless of caste, religion, and race, the contribution of Sikhs was commendable, he stated. The netizens went in awe by his approach.

Web Series 'Grahan' Faces Backlash From Sikh Community

The Sikh community has been outraged by the web series "Grahan" which is set to launch on June 24 in Disney+Hotstar. The president of the SGPC community, considered as the top body amongst the Sikh community, has called for a ban on the series which is based on the anti-Sikh riots of 1984. According to the president, the reason for the ban is the objectionable portrayal of a Sikh character.

PM's Stance Caused Great Damage To Farmers: SGPC Chief

Accusing PM Narendra Modi of taking an "anti-farmer" stand, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) chief Bibi Jagir Kaur stated that the committee would not invite PM Modi for upcoming Sikh events. The SGPC chief said, "The Prime Minister’s stance has caused great damage to farmers". Bibi also demanded an immediate reopening of the Kartarpur Corridor, which was closed due to the pandemic.

West Bengal: Sikh Community Protests After Cop Pulls Man's Turban

The members of the Sikh Community carried out a rally on October 10 against the alleged manhandling of a 'Sikh man', identified as Balwinder Singh, by Kolkata police during a BJP rally. The uproar followed a viral video, wherein the police can be seen pulling Balwinder's turban. However, the police have denied the allegations saying that the turban fell "automatically" during the scuffle to seize the gun he was carrying.

US: Indian restaurant vandalised with hate messages scrawled on walls

India Palace, an Indian restaurant owned by a Sikh in Sante Fe City of New Mexico was broken into and vandalised on June 23, with hate messages scrawled on its walls. The damage caused to the restaurant is estimated to be worth USD 100,000. Messages like ÔÇ£White power," "Trump 2020," "go home," were spray-painted on the walls. The matter is being investigated by local police and the FBI.
