To Honour Indian WW Soldiers, War Memorial In England To Feature Sikh Pilot
A war memorial being constructed in England's Southampton will feature Indian Sikh pilot Hardit Singh Malik's statue to pay homage towards Indian soldiers who stood with British forces in the World Wars. Malik - a fighter pilot, cricketer, and golfer - had attended Balliol College in 1908 and was the first Sikh to join Royal Flying Corps in the World War-I.
