Sister Abhaya Murder Case: Kerala HC Grants Bail To Sister Sephy & Father Thomas Kottoor

In the sister Abhaya murder case, Kerala High Court suspended the sentence of life imprisonment to Father Thomas Kottoor and sister Sephy, on June 23. Thiruvananthapuram CBI court in 2020, convicted the aforementioned duo for the murder of 19-year-old nun sister Abhaya and sentenced them to life Imprisonment. The incident occurred in Kerala's Kottayam on March 27, 1992. CBI took over the case in 2008.

Kerala: Catholic Priest, Nun Found Guilty In Sister Abhaya Case After 28 Years

In a culmination of a murder case that ran for over 28 years, a catholic priest and a nun were found guilty for murdering 21-year-old Sister Abhaya. The crime had taken place in 1992 in St. Pius convent of Kerala' Kottayam district and the body of Abhaya was recovered from a well inside the convent. A CBI court will pronounce the sentence for Father Thomas Kottor and Sister Sephy on December 23.
