While hearing the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, the Supreme Court said on November 8 that it's not satisfied with the SIT's probe in the case. The apex court told the UP government's advocate Harish Salve that ''we granted 10 days' time...lab reports haven't come so far.'' The SC also said it was ''inclined to appoint a judge...to monitor day-to-day investigation''. The next hearing will be held on November 12.

Ex-CBI officer, K Ragothaman (76) who led former PM Rajiv Gandhi's assassination investigation, died due to COVID 19 on May 12 at a private hospital in Chennai. After joining CBI as a sub-inspector in 1968, he handled many high-profile cases in his career. The Delhi Police data has revealed that 407 out of 755 cases registered in connection with the February 2020 northeast Delhi riots are still awaiting investigation.
