Massive Oil Spill In Southern California; Booms, Skimmers Used For Cleanup

Skimmers and floating barriers known as booms were used to control an oil spill off the coast of Orange County, California on October 3. A total of 126,000 gallons (572,807 litres) of oil had spilled into the water. Experts are still attempting to figure out what caused the leak off the coast of Orange County, but Amplify Energy said on October 3 that it had halted the flow of oil.
