Smriti Irani Takes Dig At Rahul Gandhi Over MP Post

Union Minister Smriti Irani took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stating that if he "remains" in Wayanad, it would suffer the same fate as Amethi in Uttar Pradesh when he was the MP from there. Notably, Rahul Gandhi was the MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency before his conviction and sentencing for two years. After the Gujarat HC verdict, the Lok Sabha issued notice and removed as MP.

Smriti Irani Remarks On Bungalow Eviction Of Rahul Gandhi

BJP Leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani made remarks over the issued notice to Rahul Gandhi, asking him to vacate his government bungalow. Addressing the media, Irani said, "The house does not belong to him, it belongs to the common people." Notably, the Lok Sabha Housing committee issued notice, asking Gandhi to vacate his house by April 23, as a disqualified parliamentarian isn't entitled to government accommodation.

Delete All Social Media Posts Regarding Illegal Bar Allegations On Irani's Daughter: Delhi HC

The Delhi HC reviewed Smriti Irani's petition filed against Congress leaders, Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Khera and Netta D'souza for a post claiming BJP Minister Irani's daughter Zoish Irani is running an illegal bar in Goa. In this regard, the court issued summons to Ramesh and others, asking to delete all their social media posts. 23 Crore Women Given Access To Bank Accounts Under MUDRA Scheme: Smriti Irani

Union Minister Smriti Irani informed Rajya Sabha that 68% beneficiaries under the Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) scheme, were women. She further stated that Rs 32 crore worth loans have been sanction under the scheme. Moreover, 23 crore women now have bank accounts for the first time in their lives. "Even in the stand-up India programme, 80% of the beneficiaries are women," she added.

Smriti Irani On Marital Rape Issue, Says All Men Are Not Rapist

On February 2, Union Minister Smriti Irani addressed concerns over "marital rape" and demand of classifying it as crime. "It's not right to call all men rapists" said Irani.
