Sub Inspectors Arrested For Smuggling Ivory Tusks: Rajasthan
Three police sub-inspectors have been arrested in the Jalupura, Rajasthan for selling 35 ivory tusks worth 30 kg each as per the police, on March 13. The arrest was based on a tip about a sign of moving ivory tusks and tiger skin. The arrested ones are identified as Nazuddin Khan, a sub-inspector from the Hardoi Police lines in UP, Nadir alias Shahrukh Khan and Gulam Khan.

Mumbai Police Arrest Beef Smuggler; 2,500 Kg Beef Seized
A person was arrested at Thane as he was allegedly smuggling 2,500 kilograms of beef. Reportedly, the beef was worth Rs 2.5 lakhs, and was being smuggled to an area called Kurla in Mumbai. According to sources, the police detained the tempo near Jupiter Hospital. However, a case been filed for the issue under concerned sections of IPC and further investigation is underway.

International Smuggler Gunned Down in J&K; Recovered Drugs Worth 100 Crore
The BSF gunned down a narcotics smuggler along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on June 23. Besides the repeated warning, he entered the Indian territory and tried to flee, stated the personnels. However, the officials have recovered 27 kg of heroin, worth over 100 crore in the International market. Moreover, the identity of the smuggler has not been disclosed yet.

Andhra Pradesh: 4 Arrested With 120 Kg Of Ganja
Four people, including a woman, were detained in Andhra Pradesh's Nandigama for smuggling ganja. Police also seized 120 kg of ganja from them. The police informed that the accused were smuggling the contraband to Mumbai. Reportedly, the police squad seized the ganja when it was being moved from one vehicle to the other. "Efforts are on to arrest two more persons," said Superintendent of Police M Ravindranath Babu.

UP & Delhi Police Arrest Sandalwood Smugglers; Rs 50 Crore Worth Logs Seized
In a joint operation by Uttar Pradesh's Amroha police and Delhi Police, three persons from a gang involved in smuggling of red and white sandalwood, was arrested. Reportedly, 145 quintals of logs were seized. The estimated worth of the logs seized is Rs 50 crore. "We came to know that accused used to smuggle the sandalwood to China and Japan," said Vipin Tanda, Superintendent of Police, Amroha.
