Two Zambian men were held at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi for allegedly smuggling heroin worth Rs 7.36 crore into India on July 7. The accused were arrested on their arrival from Johannesburg via Addis Ababa on June 27. The men concealed the drug in capsule-like substances inside their abdomen. A total of 106 capsules of 1.05kg of heroin were recovered.
International star Kim Kardashian has landed in an international art smuggling scandal after a Roman sculpture was imported to California using her credentials. Reportedly, the illegally exported statue was seized at Los Angeles airport in 2016 and was consigned to the Noel Roberts Trust, which is owned by Kardashian and her ex-husband Kayne West. Meanwhile, Kardashian's spokesperson has denied any association of her with the statue.
Customs officials on February 28 seized over 200 iPhones at Bangalore Airport from a couple arriving from Paris. Besides the iPhones worth Rs 2.8 crore, 37 debit and credit cards, and a vehicle supposed to transport the phones were also seized.
