Wuhan: 11,000 Alumni Gather To Celebrate Graduation 2020
Over 11,000 students gathered in Wuhan University to celebrate their graduation for the year 2020, which did not occur offline due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Students shed off their masks and sat without social distancing. The University welcomed the students with a sign that read: "Welcoming the graduates of 2020 back home. We wish you all a great future".

Delhi Govt Orders Deployment Of Marshals At Liquor Stores
Delhi's Excise Department has ordered the four state-run liquor sellers and private bodies to deploy marshals and staff to ensure COVID-appropriate behaviour at shops. The order aims primarily to ensure social distancing among customers, use of masks and sanitizers along with prohibiting consumption of gutka, pan and liqour at shops. Meanwhile, liquor shops in Delhi are currently operating on an odd-even basis from 10am to 8pm.

Hong Kong Authorities Ban Tiananmen Vigil For 2nd Consecutive Year
Tiananmen vigil organizers on May 27 announced that the Hong Kong police have refused to conduct the gathering on June 4 for the second consecutive year. Reportedly, the police cited COVID-19 situation for the decision. The vigil marks China's Tiananmen Square crackdown event, and it has been conducted in Hong Kong for more than three decades. However, the organizers urged people to light candles irrespective of their location.

Spot Fines To Be Imposed At Airports For Flyer's Not Wearing Masks
Amid the second wave of COVID-19, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has urged airports to tighten COVID-19 surveillance protocols. Reportedly, the authorities have advised airports to enforce stricter actions like imposing a heavy fine on travellers not wearing a mask or violating social distancing norms. Earlier, the DGCA had announced that passengers not wearing masks will be de-boarded from the flights.

Mob Attack Cops For Denying Permission To Hold Hola Mohalla; 17 Nabbed
Hundreds of Sikhs, equipped with sticks and swords, on March 29 resorted to violence after they were denied permission for Hola Mohalla procession at Maharashtra's Nanded gurudwara. The chaos broke out after police attempted to disperse the huge crowd to maintain social distancing. Booking 200 culprits, the police have arrested 17 miscreants who caused the clash in which four policemen got injured as well.

DCGA Urges To Deboard Passengers If COVID-19 Protocols Violated

Pune Allows To Reopen 60 Gardens With Restrictions From January 25

R-Day Parade Opts For Short Route With Smaller Contingents Of Jawans
The COVID-affected 72nd Republic Day parade will be held under several modifications including curtailing the parade route by 50% as the jawans will march till the National Stadium only. Earlier, they used to march till Red Fort. Maintaining social distancing, the January 26 Parade will also have shorter contingents of mask-donned 96 jawans instead of 144 jawans. Additionally, in a first, the CRPF will display its own tableau.
