PM Modi Mourns Demise Of Padma Shri Awardee Shanti Devi
Padma Shri Awardee and voice of poor (social worker) from Odisha Shanti Devi, passed away on January 16. Taking to Twitter, PM Narendra Modi, on January 17, expressed condolences and said, "pained by her demise. My thoughts are with her family and countless admirers. Om Shanti". Shanti Devi has been admired by people for her selfless act of helping poor and underprivileged people and won the highest civilian award.

2 Social Workers Help Farmers To Adopt Turmeric Cultivation To Earn Better
Social workers Ramila and Devilal Vyas in a revolutionary step convinced the farmers to grow turmeric and earn a good income in Rajasthan's Dungarpur as they were facing loss due to cotton cultivation. Both having founded an NGO namely Jan Shiksha Evam Vikas Sangathan, launched the ''Mahi Haldi'' initiative, joining over 2,500 farmers. The duo also offers the farmers a buyback policy and helps them to sell their crops.
