First Solar To Set Up Million Dollar Solar Manufacturing Facility In India
American solar panels manufacturer First Solar Inc. aims to set up a fully vertically integrated photovoltaic (PV) thin-film solar module manufacturing facility in India and is willing to infuse $684 million in the project. On approval from the Indian government, the company is expected to begin its operations in mid-2023. "India is an attractive market for First Solar," said Chief Executive Officer Mark Widmar.

NTPC To Commission India's Largest Floating Solar Power Plant In May
The National Thermal Power Corporation is all set to commission India's largest floating solar power plant at Ramagundam in May 2021. The Rs 423-crore floating project of 100 MW capacity will be spread over 450 acres on the water surface of Sri Ram Sagar Project reservoir. Cochin International Airport Authorizes Floating Solar Power Panels
Kerala's Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL), noted for being the world's first solar-powered airport, commissioned two floating solar power plants on January 17. Using French technology, CIAL has presented economical high-density polyethylene floats upon which 1300 photovoltaic panels were installed. Government Schools In Delhi To Use Solar Electricity; Expected To Save 8.8 Crore
Around 150 government schools in Delhi to use solar systems under the central government's scheme for building solarisation. The scheme is expected to elevate the income through selling the electricity generated by the solar plates and reduce electricity bills. According to the reports, about 21 megawatts (MW) solar connection has been installed and is expected to save about Rs 8.8 crore in bills and shall earn about Rs 8.56 crore.
