Earth Receives Radio Signals From Planet Outside Solar System

Astronomers have for the first time detected stars that are blasting radio signals hinting the presence of hidden planets around them. The astronomers have detected signals from 19 distant red dwarfs, four of which are best explained by the existence of planets orbiting them. The astronomers said in a statement "We've long known that the planets emit powerful radio waves as their magnetic fields interact with the solar wind".

NASA To Explore Moon's South Pole Through 'VIPER' By 2023

NASA stated on September 20 that it plans to send an ice-seeking rover 'VIPER' to the Nobile Crater in the Moon's south pole in 2023. This robot is to explore water ice beneath the surface that can potentially work as rocket fuel for future trips to Mars and beyond afield. The robot is called Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER). It's about the size of a golf cart.

Newly Discovered Planet Hot Enough To Vaporize Human Life

Scientists have discovered a new planet named TOI-1431b, which is 490 light-years from earth and three times the size of Jupiter and is among the hottest planets located so far. "These types of exceptionally hot planets, known as ultra-hot Jupiters, are quite rare," said one of the researchers. According to the scientists, the planet's temperature is close to the discharge of a rocket.

Astronomers Spot Smallest Black Hole In Milky Way; Name It 'The Unicorn'

Scientists have discovered possibly the smallest black hole of the Milky Way galaxy close to our solar system and nicknamed it 'the Unicorn' attributing its unconventional features. Approximately 1,500 light-years (9.5 trillion kilometers) away from the Earth, the Unicorn is estimated to be about three-times the mass of the sun. Notably, such small black holes are called stellar-mass black holes formed by the gravitational collapse of a… read-more

Meteorite In Sahara Desert Is 4.6 Bn Years Old, Formed Before Earth: Experts

The scientists have claimed that mysterious meteorite 'Erg Chech 002', which landed in Sahara desert in 2020, is around 4.6 billion years old. Found in Algeria by a research team led by France's Jean Alix Barrat, the large matter is said to be older than the solar system. While the researchers believed it to be formed at 1220 degrees Celsius, the meteorite comprising green and yellow coloured crystal was supposedly present during the Earth's… read-more
